Community Support

Our support

Here at Scotts we take the opportunity to help wherever we can in the Nelson/Tasman area. We incorporate our values into the giving of time, money and resources. Some of the cool things we have done recently is:

  • Heave for Hospice

  • Refugee Art wall at Nile street

  • Pink Ribbon breakfasts

  • Movember

  • Relay for Life

  • The longest Lap – Mates in construction

  • Helped with the RFC new club rooms

  • Built a parents room and compostable loo for Fossil Creek

  • Dancing for a Cause support

  • Hope Is My Homeboy

Thanks to our community for letting us be a part of these initiatives and thanks to our employees who help us to be socially responsible.

Sponsorship and community involvement is really important to us as a local company in Nelson. We have been doing an employee led sponsorship program, where we have funds available for our employees to access for things that they are passionate about. Whether it is for themselves, a sports club, a charity, their children we want to make sure they feel supported. With anything left over we try and make the biggest impact to our wider community, with things like Heave for Hospice, or making a compostable loo for Fossil Creek, getting involved with the art project on Nile Street, helping with new gym mats for the local cheerleading club, donating to local women’s shelters, we act within our Scotts values to do better.

Testimonials:

Scott Construction have been a foundation sponsor of Special Olympics Basketball in Nelson for the last six years.

As a squad of 40 impaired Basketball players, we remain incredibly grateful for their high-level support.

This level of strong community-mindedness is extraordinary. On behalf of all of our athletes and support crew, thank you, thank you, thank you.

We use this support to: upgrade all of our equipment regularly, get all of our athletes on the road 3 or 4 times per annum to compete against other Special Olympics clubs around the country and deck all athletes and support crew in NBA-like branded apparel. With this level of support, as an example: our A team are the third best in the country.

We look forward to supporting Scott Construction whenever we can, and to a long-standing relationship into the future.

-Stuart Allan , Manager , Special Olympics Nelson Basketball

Scott Construction jumping on board for the 2025 Scott Construction NZ ILCA National Championships, played a key role in making the event such a success for the New Zealand ILCA fleet, for Nelson Yacht Club, and for the Nelson region in general. With 103 ILCA (formerly known as lasers) launching from the club to sail out to the race area in Tasman Bay each day, it was a spectacular sight. With the addition of family and coaches/supporters it is estimated to have brought over 300 people to the region for 5-7 days. Organising the event was a huge effort for a small regional club. As well as over 200 hours of staff time, there were over 80 volunteers involved over the course of the event, and it wouldn't have happened without Scott Construction's generous support.

-Tim Fraser-Harris , Club Manager of Nelson Yacht Club

" It takes a community to make a Hospice happen and the team at Nelson Tasman Hospice are so grateful to Scott Construction for being a part of our community with their ongoing support. Always keen to get involved where they can, their involvement spans across our events and campaigns from being a main dance sponsor of NBS Dancing For A Cause 2023 contestant, Cheryl Candish, to entering a team for our Hands Up For Hospice campaign's Heave for Hospice. Having local organisations, like Scott Construction proudly support the work we do, enables us to be there for the 210 patients and their families who we support each month across Nelson Tasman "
