NELSON: PLANT AND FOOD RESEARCH LTD
Luke Benton, Quantity Surveyor is excited about the latest competitive tender Scott Construction Ltd. has won.
Plant and Food Research Ltd. is getting a new home on Akersten Street within Port Nelson that includes a new laboratory, research areas, and office facilities.
Scott Construction is partnering with award winning NZIA Registered Architects Jerram Tocker Barron Architects, to design the new space. Scott Construction will project manage a team of ten of its staff alongside a range of sub-contractors.
The new 1500m2 building will be a beautiful contemporary space, consistent with the prized style of Jerram Tocker Barron Architects. With an exposed timber structure, structural steel portals, and curtain wall glazing, we can’t wait to see the finished product. And as with any laboratory environment, functionality will be crucial to the design.
Both Plant and Food and Port Nelson commissioned the work, which is due to be completed in April 2017.
Keep an eye out here for updates to this project as it progresses.
