TASMAN: NETWORK TASMAN BUILDING
The project brief was to carry out alterations and additions to the existing industrial building to create a new two level office block of approximate 1,980m2 and its office fitout. The works also includes a portion of the overall site works.
The anchor tenant for the building was MWH New Zealand who occupies a significant portion of both levels of the new office block. MWH engaged a separate design team for their fitout works, which was carried out concurrently with the ‘Base-Build’ project.
Contract works included the partial demolition of the existing industrial building, while conserving portions of the buildings precast walls and the concrete foundations to be incorporated in the new design.
The new structure included insitu concrete columns, masonry filled blockwork, structural steel, precast floor beams, AFS grout filled walls, reinforcing steel, insitu concrete stairs and concrete topping slab components.
The new building also had to interface with an existing building which remained, involving the continuation of the entry facade and the interface of the new exterior canopy with remaining structure.
On the interior of the building there was a high level of finish and a large variety of material selections required. This included, ground concrete floors, vinyl, carpet tiles and ceramic floor and wall tiles. There was also intricate timber joinery, partitions, bulkheads and timber fins involved in the tenant fitout works.
A multitude of building services were designed to meet the requirements of the buildings tenants and latest building code standards. We oversaw the implementation of a full fire protection alarm system, mechanical ventilation system, data/communications system, electrical & lighting, plumbing & drainage works, auto doors and a central lift (elevator).
