NELSON: PERPEPTUAL GUARDIAN
The Project
When searching for a construction company to work with to complete a fit-out of an existing premises, Perpetual Guardian chose to work with Scott Construction.
Perpetual Guardian specialise in estate planning, wills, trusts and enduring powers of attorney. They have offices nationwide, with over 140,000 will relationships and administering or supervising assets valued over $100 billion.
This decision to work with Scott Construction was reinforced by our website. They could see the scope of work we did and liked it. After reading about the ability the team have to work to tight timeframes, they were thrilled that we were able to meet with them on the day of their enquiry and begin planning immediately.
With commercial properties, there are often tight timeframes which need to be met to minimise downtime and costs incurred as a result of this. In this instance, we were able to work to the tight lease change-over dates. It is this flexibility and ability to motivate staff quickly that was hugely beneficial in this project.
It is not often that a build like this has no architect or designs to work with, but that didn’t cause any concerns or complications. In this instance, we dealt directly with the client’s property manager to deliver everything from the walls to designing the joinery.
With no plans drawn up, it was a much more involved process for the client. However, it saved the client money and was an exciting more hands on challenge for the team at Scott Construction; builds are not often done that way around.
After agreeing on a fixed price, the project was delivered on time, on budget and to the high expectations of the client. One of their highlights was the reception desk, which as you can see from the photos, looks great!
ITM were great to work with on this project, and have a role to play in the much-loved reception desk.
Scott Construction do a good job, they are good at communication and show patience. It’s not a one way street which is important for me as a sub-contractor.” Working with Scott’s is good and easy business because it’s made easy. If there’s an issue, it’s sorted.” Scott Construction improve as they continue to grow, not only in people, but also their systems.” Tony Broughton, ITM
