NELSON: BNZ – RETAIL FIT OUT
As part of the national upgrade of the Bank of New Zealand (BNZ) branches, Scott Construction completed a comprehensive fit out and upgrade to both the Retail and Partners areas of the BNZ in Nelson. The two divisions, Retail and Partners, had very different briefs and unique individual requirements, which we managed. The project was divided into six stages to allow both departments of the branch to remain operational during construction. The project was completed on time, and with business continuity crucial, the bank was able to remain fully operational during the five month construction period. We have also completed smaller scale fit outs for BNZ in Westport, Picton, Motueka and Takaka.
The majority of existing walls, partitions and ceilings needed to be demolished. A variety of new floor coverings were fitted throughout: carpet tiles, vinyl planking, ceramic tiles and non-slip vinyl. A new suspended ceiling grid was constructed in most areas with upgrades to mechanical, data, electrical, fire protection and security carried out as well. There was a substantial joinery and furniture component. The joinery included interactive wonder walls for customers to access information, central service counters, business tellers, and hub meeting areas. New furniture was also a feature of this project with architectural seating, couches, tables and a friendly kid’s area. Contemporary internal and external glazing was used to complement the open plan design. Full height glazed partitions, windows, and doors featured prominently.
“Scott Construction were very vigilant in ensuring that noise levels and disruption to our business was kept to an absolute minimum throughout construction. I would not hesitate to contract Scott Construction Limited for any future work we were to undertake.” Stephen Vercoe, Store Manager, Nelson, Bank of New Zealand
